The Holy Child College e-library project was sponsored by Holy Child College UK Alumnae. The college needed an e-library that will provide quality resources for their Alma-Ata, hence, we deployed a Home Cloud system with the goal of students being able to access educational resources from multiple platforms within a unified search or discovery service.

Libtech was tasked to deploy an Integrated Library System to perform the following functions:

• Exclusive educational contents that can be accessible offline
• Integrated library solution for managing library activities.
• An administrative interface with features like cataloging, circulation- borrowing and returning of books, seamless registration by students
• A unified search system which enables users to search multiple databases on one search interface.

A Home cloud system was also deployed on the school’s local server and can be accessed without internet connection. Another feature of the home cloud is an Open Educational Resources (OER) which comes with several channels containing thousands of educational resources video/audio formats for different grades (Kindergarten – After school) Including Channels like KHAN academy, PHET simulation, career girls, to mention a few.

The library was deployed on the school’s server to facilitate access to educational resources and promote seamless remote learning and easy accessibility with little or no internet access. The key features are: 

• Digital resource repository
• User-friendly Interface
• Remote access
• Personalized accounts for students and instructors, among others
