Yaba College of Technology had a plan to transform the library from analogue to smart hence the need for our solution. Libtech was tasked to deploy an Integrated Library System – Activeshelf Integrated library solution was deployed to manage the following library activities:

• Activeshelf Discovery Service (Active Shelf DS):The activeshelf comes with a discovery service Unified search interface which allows users to query several databases on one search interface, including books and journals and other materials.
• Unified Search Interface: Activeshelf DS is a powerful search engine that integrates all the organization’s content sources and platforms and provides a unified search across all platforms. Users can search across different types of resources, including books, journals, articles, and other digital content, using a single search box.
• Comprehensive Content Coverage: The discovery service indexes and makes accessible a wide range of library resources, both physical and digital, providing users with a holistic view of available materials.
• Faceted Search and Filtering: Users can refine their search results by applying filters such as format, subject, publication date, language, or other criteria that are easily customizable according to your institution’s needs to narrow down the results and find the most relevant materials.
• Integration with Library Systems: With Activeshelf DS, users do not need to move from one content platform to another to search for resources. The discovery service integrates with other library systems, ensuring seamless access to resources for users.
• Personalization and Recommendations: Our discovery service offer personalized features, such as saved searches, alerts, and recommendations based on user preferences and search history.

The YABATECH Smart Library is aimed at improving teaching, learning and research activities. The e-library caters for all the information needs of the students, staff and the entire College departments.

The e-library houses all e-books, e-journals, databases and other relevant resources to meet the information and/or research needs of institution.
